Live Edge Black Walnut Dining Table

This 12′ by 4′ live edge walnut dining table features unique marble-cake grain which is rich in blacks, browns and dark reds.  One of my favorite aspects of this piece is the epoxy filled knot which is perfectly clear and allows us to gaze deep into the wood.  The base is brushed steel making for a more modern design.

Material: Live edge black walnut book-matched (2 slabs glued together in a mirror grain image) to create the illusion of a single slab.  Black Walnut is renowned for its deep dark colors including blacks, dark reds, light reds and browns.  Black Walnut is a very desirable wood (especially in its live edge form) and oftentimes comes at a premium price point.  All our material comes from reclaimed logs that we mill and dry inhouse.

Finish: Rubio Monocoat; This finish offered great spill protection, it requires no real maintenance and can easily be spot repaired.  It is also food and pet safe.  A great finish to use on live edge wood as it provides a very even finish even with the grain inconsistencies of live edge (Wood curl, knots and sapwood)

Color: Dramatic variations of brown, blacks and reds with a contrasting off-white sapwood.
