Live Edge Ash -S1013

This wide live edge ash slab features a uniquely wavy live edge and very wide sapwood with a singular streak of heartwood.  The heartwood has a flame like shape and a light brown olive color.  This slab would make an excellent desk, a epoxy cast dining table or even a oversized coffee table.

About The Wood: Slab or live edge cut white ash is in high demand by woodworkers, especially live edge furniture makers due to its durability and contrasting heartwood/sapwood.  Ash is a great choice for live edge tables when desiring a lighter natural color.  However ash can also be stained as it takes stain well.  The supply of ash lumber is slowly deteriorating due to the ash bore.  This invasive bug is decimating the tree’s population with experts expecting ash lumber to cease being a commercial hardwood in the near future due to lack of supply.

Please note this picture was taken before the slab was dried.  We dry all of our slabs to 6-8% moisture content so that they are ready to be worked into furniture.
